Subject: LGBTQ Center OC's Advisory Committee Board
Good afternoon!
Hi, my name is Gwyn Allison, and I'm the Youth Program Assistant at the LGBTQ Center OC. I am reaching out on behalf of our new Spectrum Program, which is working on establishing a comprehensive opioid and stimulant use prevention, education, outreach, and treatment referral program for 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities across Orange County.
We are currently creating an Advisory Committee Board that would work under our Spectrum program. The purpose of the Spectrum Advisory Committee is to inform and educate the Orange County community about the effects of opioid and stimulant use prevention. This committee is part of a larger effort to support prevention, education, and outreach through a 2S/LGBTQIA+ inclusive lens. We welcome 2S/LGBTQIA+ young adults, adults, and allies who are over the age of 18+ to join us for this collaborative opportunity! This type of work would include:
- Narrative change: Challenge stigma and reframe the conversation around substance use, mental health, and wellness through storytelling and advocacy.
- Social media campaigns: Collaborate on various campaigns to educate the local Orange County community around opioid and stimulant use prevention.
- Culturally-responsive outreach and community engagement: Participate in different community events and help share resources to the community.
- Educational workshops: Help lead workshops focused on harm reduction, healthy coping strategies, and more.
- Volunteer service: Community Service/or Volunteer Hours are available to be signed off upon request.
If you know any individuals 18+ looking for volunteer work this would be a great opportunity to participate in! The link below is our registration form and offers more insight and contacts if needed.

Please feel free to forward this to anyone 18+ who is interested in contributing to the community. Thanks for your time and consideration, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
Best,
